Troubleshooting a Portable Baptistry HEater

If the pump is running but the unit is not heating:

Turn the thermostat all the way to the right
Push the High Limit reset button
There is a light on this unit that indicates the heater is getting power…verify if the light is coming on.
If light is on, give the unit 4-8 hours to warm up. You will not feel hot water at the outlet as this is a very low heat unit because it runs on 120v
If light is not coming on then try to adjust the Pressure Switch according to directions in the manual
If after adjustment and still no light, then it could be either a bad pressure switch, possible mis-wired system or possibly the church has something unusual in their electrical wiring.
1. Check for a mis-wired hot or neutral that is providing enough power to power the pump but not enough to heat the water and not tripping the GFCI.
2. Confirm breaker is correct size
3. Have a qualified electrician open the unit and Verify power to the pressure switch and coming out of the pressure switch…..
4. verify voltage and amperage into the heating element (should be about 115v and 8 amps)
5. If no voltage (or ghost voltage) to element then verify both contacts are closing
6. Verify the wiring in the unit is indeed wired according to the mfg wiring diagram -
7. take pictures of the wiring inside the unit to forward to factory for verification

if no power out of pressure switch then

adjust the pressure switch according to instructions below
following adjustment of PS verify heat light indicator or if no light…. verify power in and out of PS…if no power out after adjusting then suspect a bad PS…let us know

If power coming out of PS and light is working then it should begin to heat at around 4 degrees per hour..you will not feel the heat until after an 8+ hours or so…you cannot feel heat by sticking your hand in front of the outlet so to see if it is working

Please note that the pressure switch in this system doesn’t have a flat head screwdriver slot, it has an adjustment “star ring” that can be adjusted by hand.
