When people speak of "dripless candles" they usually are referring to tube candles. Tube candles are painted metal tubes that resemble real candles, but with an interior spring loaded assembly. Small wax candles, or "wax refills" are inserted in the spring assembly and then covered with the exterior tube, which usually slips down over the top of the inner assembly. AS the wax refill candle burns, the spring keeps pushing it upwards and the result is a uniform exterior height, with very little if any dripping.
