Delivery of Baptistries Steeples and Crosses
Production and Delivery Information
Thank you for your business. Here is an overview of what to expect during production and delivery of your baptistry, steeple, or cross.
Production Lead Times
These are estimated production times, not delivery times. Lead times are estimates, not guarantees, and may be longer due to production-related issues. We appreciate your patience if delays occur.
Production time begins once we have received payment and all requested information, such as steeple forms.
Product Estimated production time Portable baptistries 3–6 weeks Standard baptistries 4–8 weeks Wall and roof crosses 4–6 weeks Smaller steeples (under 16 ft) 4–8 weeks Larger steeples (over 16 ft) 6–12 weeks, depending on the modelDelivery Methods and Lead Times
Once your order has completed production, we will arrange delivery based on the shipping option you selected when ordering.
Route Delivery: Typically 1–8 Weeks
Route delivery is our economy option. It helps keep delivery costs down while reducing the risk of damage. Your order is picked up by our delivery service and staged according to its location and route. Routes are scheduled when enough completed orders are ready, after previously scheduled routes have been completed.
Route delivery times are not guaranteed. Depending on the routes being run when your order is ready, delivery may take about a week or up to eight weeks—and occasionally longer.
We believe route delivery is one of the best options in the industry for minimizing damage. Damage is rare compared with commercial carriers and freight lines.
Rush Hot Shot Delivery: Typically 1–2 Weeks
Hot Shot delivery is our rush option for customers who need their order sooner than route delivery typically allows. When production is complete, we arrange point-to-point delivery through our network of smaller carriers. This option usually costs more than route delivery.
Most Hot Shot deliveries arrive within one to two weeks after production is complete. Occasionally, it can take longer to find an available driver. If that happens, please know that we are doing our best to arrange a carrier.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I be notified when delivery is scheduled?
We will contact you once we know when your order is leaving the factory or warehouse. We typically email and call, so please check that our emails are not going to your junk folder. Make sure we have a reliable delivery contact number and an alternate contact number.
How much advance notice will we receive?
For route deliveries, we typically email when the order leaves the warehouse. The driver usually calls 6–12 hours before arrival. Hot Shot notification varies, but we ask the driver to call as soon as the order is picked up and on its way.
For larger items, such as double-entry baptistries or steeples, we try to contact you earlier to arrange a delivery date. However, trucking schedules can change, sometimes at short notice.
Will the driver unload the order, or do we need to arrange help?
Our route driver can usually unload smaller baptistries, portable models, and baptistries with wheels. Many Hot Shot drivers can unload as well, but please ask when the driver contacts you. Larger baptistries, cabinet models, and steeples usually require additional help.
- Portable baptistries: The driver may need 1–2 additional people if the unit is heavy or does not have wheels.
- Single-entry baptistries:FUN series: Our route driver can usually unload the unit.
- ASB series: Plan for the driver and 1–3 additional people.
- Double-entry baptistries:FUN series: Plan for the driver and 2–4 additional people.
- ASB series: Plan for the driver and 2–4 additional people.
- Small steeples (under 16 ft): Usually require 4–6 people.
- Large steeples (over 16 ft): Usually require 4–6 or more people, plus material-handling equipment such as a front-end loader with straps, forklift, hoist, or crane.
Where is the order delivered?
Delivery is generally made to a parking lot.
Can we request inside delivery for a baptistry?
If there are no steps and you have ordered a portable baptistry with wheels, the driver can usually roll it inside. For inside delivery of other baptistries, please contact us before ordering.
Otherwise, we recommend using four small, wheeled furniture dollies—one under each corner of the baptistry—to make moving it easier.
What should we do if we notice damage?
Damage is rare, but please inspect your order before signing the delivery receipt. If you notice damage or a defect, note it on the receipt and take several photos, including close-ups and a wider view showing where the damage is located. Then contact us, and we will advise you on next steps.
For minor issues, we may be able to send a gel-coat repair or touch-up kit. For more involved repairs, we can usually help locate a fiberglass repair shop.
We previously shipped all orders by motor freight, when damage rates were running 10%–20%. With route delivery, we now see approximately 1–3 damaged items per year, compared with 40–60 per year previously.
We have a firm delivery deadline. Should we select route delivery?
If you have a firm deadline, we generally recommend Hot Shot delivery. Route delivery can be delayed by weather, other orders, or schedule changes, and delivery times are not guaranteed. Our delivery service runs routes across the country throughout the year and works to deliver orders as soon as practical while keeping costs down. We appreciate your patience.
Can delivery charges change after we place our order?
Generally, no. We have not had to request additional delivery charges from customers to date. In extraordinary circumstances, such as a major increase in fuel costs, an additional charge could become necessary. If so, we would contact you for approval first. You could then consider another delivery option or pick up your order at the factory and receive a refund of the delivery charges you paid.
