All of our Luminaria products are made in the USA. Listed below are the most popular Luminaria candles, bags and cups, please contact us if you need something not listed.
Tips on How to get the most out of your Luminaria Service for Cemeteries
Plan ahead. Order your supplies as early as possible. While we have a good supply of Luminarias on hand, we may occasionally be out of stock for a few days due to heavy demand. Also, you want to leave time for your help to assemble the Luminarias (Particularly if you are placing a large order). By ordering early this gives us time to ship your order to you and gives you time to prepare the bags to be set out. We suggest that you try to place your order about 4 weeks before you want delivery of your Luminarias. We do however, take orders up to the day before a service but we strongly advise giving yourself plenty of time.
- Figure your needs. Count on one Luminaria per marker and two for every 10-15 feet of road in your park.(1 on each side) Don’t forget to allow for decorating entrances, road frontage, special areas etc.
- Order sand from a local supplier, figure on about 8-10oz per bag.
- Set your date. Most parks have their service about 1 week before Christmas, but anytime is appropriate. Be sure to have a rain date.
- Advertise! The successful parks we see put signs up stating the date of the service as well as any special information they may want to include. Call your local paper, they will usually give you a free listing in the community section. Also, send a letter out to the families with loved ones at yor park. They will especially appreciate this service.
- Line up help. In addition to your regular staff, take advantage of the free help you will probably be able to get. Many parks get retired persons, scout troops, garden clubs, etc. as well as family members with interred loved ones to help put out the Luminarias. People really do enjoy helping out with this event, especially when it comes time to light the Luminarias.
- Be careful. Use common sense when setting out the bags. Use plenty of sand, roll the edges of the bags down to prevent them from collapsing in on the flame, do not put the Luminarias near combustible materials (propane tanks, dry grasses, leaves etc). Have fire extinguishers on hand just in case. Many cemeteries report that the local fire department will dispatch a truck at no charge to watch over things.
- Enjoy !When you see the reflections of thousands of lights all over your park, you can’t help but feel the Christmas spirit. Take time to enjoy the sights and to reflect on what Christmas is really about.
