Optional Items
The shingle protector provides a layer of protection between the base of the steeple and your shingle roof. It is a 3/16” layer of fiberglass custom cut to fit your steeple. • Allows weight of steeple to be dispersed over a larger area • Will eliminate the possibility of the shingles being cut due to normal wind loads and settling • Can be reused when it is time for your roof replacement
Lightening Protection can reduce the impact of lightening strikes by directing the charge to the ground. We suggest checking with your local code office and insurance provider to see if they recommend Lightning Protection. If you select LP for your steeple we will provide an airrod and aluminum cable to the base of the steeple. Your electrician provides the cable from the base to the ground including a grounding rod.
Aluminum steeple crosses can give your spire a more traditional steeple appearance.
Krinklglas panels can replace the standard panels for an upcharge.
Custom Colors and Maintenance for Fiberglass Church Steeples
Fiberglass Unlimited steeples are designed with a durable, molded-in gel coat finish that typically requires no painting. For those seeking a personalized look, custom colors are available for an additional charge when placing your order. These finishes are permanently integrated into the fiberglass surface, providing lasting beauty and reducing the need for touch-ups.
To ensure the best results, we recommend selecting any custom color options during the initial manufacturing process rather than attempting to change the color after delivery.
Over time, prolonged exposure to sunlight may cause minor fading or dulling of the surface. This can often be corrected by polishing the steeple with an automotive compound, followed by a coat of paste wax to restore its original shine.
If a full color change is needed later, the steeple can be repainted—similar to refinishing a fiberglass car body—by lightly sanding the surface and applying paint using a professional spray gun.
Easy Installation for Steeples and Cupolas
Fiberglass Unlimited steeples and cupolas are designed for straightforward installation by individuals with basic construction experience. Each component is pre-fitted at the factory to ensure a precise fit, then stacks and bolts together easily on-site—saving time and reducing installation complexity.
